Meet and visit ASHTAR in Hannover

Für die nächsten 2 Monate hat das Schauspielhaus dank eines Stipendiums vom IFA Lamis Shaladeh vom Ashtartheater in Ramallah als Praktikantin zu Gast.

Am 29.5. um 20 Uhr im Ballhofcafé wird sie einen Einblick in die Theaterarbeit des Ashtar-Theaters geben, das durch seine GAZA-Monologe weltberühmt geworden ist, und das kürzlich zu Gast in Hannover war.

Lamis sucht insbesondere Jugendtheatergruppen für langfristige Kooperation, Austausch und gegenseitige Festivalbesuche.

About Ashtar
ASHTAR for Theatre Productions and Training is a Palestinian theatre which aims to promote creativity and commitment for change through a novel combination of specific training and acting programs and services and professional theatre performances. If marginalized audience is unable to come to our main location in Ramallah, we move our stage to these often remote areas to include everyone.

AHSTAR Theatre has 3 main programs:

1. Theatre of The Oppressed Program as it is the main center for Theatre of The Oppressed in the Middle-east.
2. Drama Training Program.
3. Professional Theatre.

ASHTAR Theatre holds two festivals biennially, one is ASHTAR’s International Theatre of the Oppressed Festival, and the other is ASHTAR’s International Youth Camp-fest.

About Lamis
My name is Lamis Shalaldeh, I work as a Projects´ Coordinator at ASHTAR Theatre – Ramallah, in summer 2016 we will be holding ASHTAR’s International Youth Camp-fest in its 3rd edition, where we host youth theatre groups from local and international theatres for 10 days in Ramallah, the camp-fest usually consists of workshops by local and international trainers, touring with performances in Palestine, and doing a final presentation of the work that has been done throughout the camp-fest. We are now in the process of announcing this festival and inviting youth theatre groups to apply, if you are interested to get a glimpse of ASHTAR Theatre and its programs, and get a chance to participate with ASHTAR’s Youth Camp-fest and visit Palestine, meet us on Friday 29th May 2015 at 8:00 pm Ballhof Café – Hannover.
