The Freedom Jatha – now touring India!

The Freedom Theatre's joint production with Jana Natya Manch, Hamesha Samida (Forever Steadfast) is the highlight of the Freedom Jatha project. The Freedom Jatha team is now in the midst of a tour that will be visiting eleven cities in India, performing over 30 times. The play is the outcome of the first theatrical collaboration between India and Palestine, and has already sparked many conversations about theatre, resistance and freedom.

Power/Poison

Three young brothers are home alone. Their father has left and promised to return but after some time the boys begin to wonder if he is ever coming back. The brothers are faced with a series of problems that they need to solve in order to survive and to bring some stability to their lives. What will they eat? Who will be in charge?

Zakaria Zubeidi freed from all charges

At a court hearing today, March 5th in Ramallah, Zakaria Zubeidi was acquitted of all charges in regards to the shooting at the house of the former Governor of Jenin, Kadura Musa, in May 2012. Zubeidi, who has repeatedly affirmed his innocence in relation to the allegations leveled against him, expressed his relief and gratitude towards the people who have stood by him throughout this ordeal.

The Siege tours the West Bank: April 4-17

April 2002. Spring in Bethlehem. A group of Palestinian freedom fighters seek sanctuary in the Church of the Nativity, one of the world’s holiest sites, as the Israeli army closes in. Along with the fighters are some 200 priests, nuns and civilians. The siege lasts for 39 days, paralyzing the centre of Bethlehem. While the world is watching, the fighters are faced with the question of whether to struggle to the end or to surrender.

Freedom Theatre Introducing: New Theatre School class

A group of 18 students have just finished the first of an eight-week integration period of The Freedom Theatre’s three-year educational program in acting. The students have come from all over the West Bank to embark upon a journey that will undoubtedly be both life-changing and challenging, bringing them into the world of theatre and drama.
